Our Past, Present and Future

Past

Back in 1981, a long-lasting partnership was created by two energy industry professionals who had vastly different backgrounds, but who shared a common entrepreneurial spirit that focused on customer service, product quality, a very strong sense of commitment to employees and a dedication to becoming the industry standard for all product and service offerings.

Two ambitious young men, Julio Gomez, a native of Argentina and Steve Wilson, a native Houstonian were co-workers at MTI, a division of Minar SAPS. Minar SAPS was an Argentine-owned wireline company. The two were soon offered the challenge of managing Minar's U.S. operations.

In 2001, the current business name of The ARTEX Group LLC was unveiled — the AR for partner and co-director Gomez, a native of Argentina; and the TEX obviously taken from Steve's Lone Star roots — and the decade to follow would see an impressive overall growth in demand for products and services they offered to energy service firms.

Present

Today The Artex Group employees over 180 talented people in its two divisions, (Artex USA and JAS Distributing). The Artex Group's manufacturing facilities, service centers and sales offices span the globe in locations including Brenham, Houston and Fort Worth, Texas; Vernal, Utah; Dubai,UAE; Lima, Peru; Mossoro, Brazil; and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Artex and JAS Distributing names are recognized worldwide for our continued commitment to manufacturing the best 'custom' wireline trucks, skid units, logging tools and related surface equipment and distributing the highest grade ETA perforating products to companies such as Archer, Cased-Hole Solutions, Pioneer Wireline, Halliburton, Oil India and many other regional, national and international partners.

Future

Not a company known for standing still, The Artex Group looks to our experienced management team and employees, along with our long-lasting relationships with customers to move our company into the future with new research and development initiatives. As in the past, this formula will result in new product and service offerings which solve industry-related problems and exploit future opportunities.

Our approach is fairly simple. We work alongside our customers and listen to their needs. We develop solutions that save them time, increase their competitive edge and add directly to their bottom line.

"We look forward to the future, while building on our past. Our current team stands ready to take on new challenges and opportunities that present themselves in the ever-changing energy service arena."
